Generations For America Foundation, a 501(C)(3) non-profit, welcomes Rocky Burke to our board of directors. After nearly five decades of dedicated service in the public safety sector, Rocky Burke is excited to announce his transition from public service to the private sector. With 49 years of experience in various public safety roles across Charleston County, Burke has served in numerous distinguished positions, including with the North Charleston Fire Department, North Charleston Police Department, Charleston County Police Department, St. John’s Fire Department, St. Paul’s Fire District, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, and the Folly Beach Department of Public Safety.
“I am proud to have spent nearly 50 years serving the community and working alongside so many dedicated public safety professionals. As I transition to this new chapter, I am excited to continue my commitment to service in a new capacity with the Generations For America Foundation,” said Rocky Burke.
As a new board member of Generations For America Foundation, Burke will be leveraging his extensive knowledge of law enforcement and public safety to help strengthen the Foundation’s mission. Additionally, he will take on the role of instructor for the Shield of Rights program, a 12-hour course designed to teach the U.S. Constitution from a law enforcement perspective. This unique program aims to equip both public safety professionals and the general public with a deeper understanding of constitutional rights and their application in everyday situations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rocky Burke to our Foundation,” said Ingrid Centurion, Founder of Generations For America Foundation. “His years of service and depth of knowledge in law enforcement are invaluable assets. His expertise in the practical application of the Constitution will be a tremendous benefit to both our programs and the communities we serve.”
Burke’s decision to join the Foundation comes at a pivotal time, as the organization continues to expand its efforts to promote education on the US Constitution with emphasis on the First Amendment.
